Global Maritime Services is one of the largest Shipping companies and biggest Commodities Traders in the world. Established in 2015, the company specializes in Shipping and Vessel Chartering, Freight Brokerage, Cargo and Ship Brokerage, Ships Sale & Purchase, Aggregates, Commodities & Resources as well as Clearing and forwarding.

GMS strictly adheres to International Agreed trade standards, processes and procedures. These standards, processes and procedures are implemented to support our suppliers and clients ensuring a smooth process for commodities trading, fraud & crime prevention. Thus, we apply the safest international trade procedures available and adhere to a "doctrine of strict compliance" as defined in UCP600 Banking Rules, Incoterms 2010/2020 Delivery Rules and ICC Uniform Rules for Collections, URC 22. We do not use nor entertain wrongly applied "LOI", "ICPO", "BCL", "ASWP", "FCO", etc. type of offers-emails/documents received divulging such wrongly applied terms are immediately trashed. INITIATION OF TRADE WITH GMS

Trading with GMS to buy commodities is initiated by completing our initial contact form. Following this stage, a trade specialist within that sector will contact you for an appointment to discuss your request in more detail. If you would like to trade with GMS simply complete our contact form selecting your interest.

First time trading with GMS?

If this is your first time trading with GMS, we work within a specific framework to safeguard the interests of all parties, clients and vendors alike. This is important as managing expectations during an initial transaction are an essential part of building long term working relations moving forward.

All first time buyer transactions will be conducted lawyer to lawyer and may, depending on the type and value of your transaction involve specific terms and conditions such as a 30% pre-payment for products after contracts are signed before a vessel is loaded.

Intermediary Policy

Global Maritime Services does not work with internet based intermediaries. As a licensed shipping Agent and International services group, we adhere to international regulatory protocols, Ethics and processes and will not entertain, mandates, gate keepers and any third party facilitation. GMS will only pay their own registered trade consultants and representatives and will not make commission payments to mandates, gatekeepers and any third party internet brokers or use any commonly circulated internet based documentation.

Due Diligence Policy

Global Maritime works within international guidelines to ensure we are always working within legal frameworks for the purpose of international trade and shipping. As a company that is incorporated within South Africa, and trade with United States Dollars and other internationally accepted International trade currencies, we will carry out due diligence checks on all prospective clients and individuals we work with to ensure we are not inadvertently involved with countries on trade embargoes, sanctioned entities, businesses or individuals deemed non grata internationally. We maintain a high level of integrity and as such will not entertain trading with illegal or prohibited substances or items or processes that can potentially harm individuals or economies.
